Alive Wellness is about integrating wellness for the body, mind and spirit into the work day as well as daily living. The 5 Yogic awareness points of the program are:

1) Proper exercise (Asana)

5) Positive thinking and meditation

Class Structure

1. Yoga Asana
Basic postures can be practised by anyone in the home or work space.

2. Awareness Techniques
Interactive exercises / discussions bring attention to issues such as Anger Management, Decision Making, Emotional Expression or Correct Nutrition.

3. Group Discussion
This gauges how much is understood and assimilated, and facilitates feedback.

4. Breath-work and Yoga Nidra
Breathing techniques maximise oxygen supply to the lungs – removing stress, chronic exhaustion or negative emotional states. Yoga Nidra is a guided relaxation inducing a semi-awake state using affirmations.

Samanta has conducted workshops for Citibank, Anil Group(Ahmedabad), Kancor Ingredients (Cochin), and is currently working with DSP Blackrock.

Samanta is a well-respected teacher who has been dedicated to mind-body health for over 20 years. With a lifetime spent practicing Yoga, Jazz Technique and Bharatnatyam, she is able to combine unique perspectives about wellbeing, healing and physiology. Samanta’s work centers on Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Ayurvedic and Thai Massage Therapies, Diet /Nutrition and Vedic Chanting. In July 2008, she partnered with Shaleen Parekh to open India’s first boutique yoga studio, Yoga Sutra. (www.yogasutra.co.in)

Samanta started out in fitness as a teenager, and her journey into the body traversed 15 years as an instructor and lead performer with noted choreographer Shiamak Davar. She then transitioned into practicing and teaching Yoga in the year 2000.Over the last ten years she has explored and mastered several healing therapies for the mind and body.

Samanta is an Advanced Teacher of the Sivananda Yoga tradition. She trained at the world-renowned Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Forest Academy at Neyyar Dam, Kerala, and is also certified in Yoga Therapy by the Yoga Vidhya Dham, Nasik. Massage Therapies

Thai Massage and Foot Reflexology

Samanta is adept in Advanced Thai Massage techniques, and has been practicing for 6 years. She is also a practitioner of Foot Reflexology, certified in Wat Po, Thailand.

Ayurvedic Massage and Prenatal / Postnatal Massage

Samanta practices Ayurvedic Massage and Panchakarma Therapy that she studied at the School of Ayurveda and Panchakarma, Kerala. She also trained here in Ayurvedic Pregnancy Care and Baby Massage.  (http://www.ayurvedaschool.in/)

Vedic Chanting

Samanta studied the ancient art of Vedic Chanting at the Krishanamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai, in 2007. She is currently pursuing an advanced course.
